Hungry to make it 3 wins in 3 weekends ,Beachburg, ON resident Nathan Blok will be taking his No. 88 car to the inaugural Bay of Quinte Grand Prix at Shannonville Motorsport Park just east of Belleville, ON in the Bay of Quinte Region.
Despite having a disappointing end to the round 4 of the Canadian Formula 2000 Championship series at Calabogie Motorsport Park, where mechanical problems forced him to pull off the track on lap 10 when he was leading by over 13 seconds, Blok is still running in 2nd place in the championship, a mere 6 points behind his Britain West Motorsport teammate Chase Pellietier.
Shannonville is a track that Blok, the 2- time Canadian F1600 Champion has never raced at before and he is looking forward to the challenge of again learning a new course and feels confident that he can perform well.
Blok said “I'm really excited to get behind the wheel again. It's been a long break since Calabogie. Though I've tested at Shannonville several times, this will be my first race at the track. Since I go to College 20 minutes away at Loyalist, it will be very cool to bring home a win in front of some familiar faces.
This two-day racing festival takes place this coming Saturday, July 18 and Sunday July 19 where in addition to round 7 and 8 of the Canadian Formula 2000 Championship Series there are six other racing championships being contested over the two days. Racing fans can expect to sample some of the region’s food and beverage, engage with interactive motorsport and automotive themed displays and meet the drivers and teams in the open paddock area. There is also a German car show-and-shine event on Sunday.
