Track praised for supporting up-and-coming local racer
I would like to “take my hat off” to Calabogie Motorsport Park for their recent support of Nathan Blok.
A young man from our community who is no doubt a future Formula One racing success. Nathan is a young man who is already at the top of his sport in Go Carting - and who will become, I’m convinced, a future Formula One success story. And right in our back yard!
Through the years I’ve watched him develop in his sport, annually driving a “volunteer lap” in his Go Cart around the Bonnechere Manor parking lot as he, himself, gives back to the Community.
In return, the Community has given back to Nathan. Recently Nathan was featured as CTV Ottawa’s “Athlete of the Week” (Oct. 23/08). He himself contributes his ongoing success to many aspects. One factor at the top of the list is the support the Community gives him. When an establishment like Calabogie Motorsport Park basically drop everything in order to allow a young man to drive their track simply because he has dreams and a lot of potential, then to that establishment I say good for you! It takes a “village to raise a child”. In the case of Calabogie Motorsport Park they, therefore, must feel much like a proud parent. Community support is instrumental in the success of developing these young, up and coming athletes and what better way for a Community to contribute than to donate their time and their resources to allow a young man’s dream to take light.
Again I say “well done” Calabogie Motorsport Park for allowing Nathan Blok to drive your track. What a way to give back to our Community.
