YOUNGEST 2011 FORMULA TOUR 1600 CHAMPION IN HISTORY
On November 19th at the ICAR Club House Nathan was presented the 2011 Formula Tour 1600 Championship Trophy by Claude Bourbonnais. As well as being the 2011 champion, Nathan also has the following accolades from his season: - he is the youngest champion in the series history - he is the youngest driver to win at Trois Rivieres Grand Prix - he broke the F1600 lap record at Circuit Gilles Villenueve - he is the youngest driver to break a track record at Circuit Gilles Villenueve - he is the only three time winner in 2011 Formula Tour 1600 Series - he was a Finalist for 2011 Team Canada Scholarship
A young Beachburg-area race car driver who has enjoyed great success faced perhaps his toughest challenge earlier this year as he made a pitch for financial support on the popular CBC television show, the Dragon’s Den.
Double podium finishes at Tremblant cap season PEMBROKE, ONTARIO – Nathan Blok, the 17-year old racing driver from the Pembroke area, has won the 2011 Formula 1600 Championship with two podium finishes at the final race weekend. Returning to the famed Circuit Mont-Tremblant track, Blok raced his #5 Boston Pizza/Mr. Lube Van Dieman F-1600 in the Formula Libre class as part of the Autumn Classic on the historic track north of Montréal. Blok was leading Olivier Bonnet by two points going into the weekend.
END OF SUMMER CAR SHOW FOR DAD TO SUPPORT PROSTATE CANCER
The End of Summer Car Show for Dad in support of Prostate Cancer was held this September 17 in Renfrew, Ontario. It was an beautiful sunny day and again this year they had a record number of participants totaling over 220 and a huge crowd of on lookers.
Nathan finished off the Formula Tour 1600 Championship with double podiums at Mont Tremblant, Quebec. A third place finish on Saturday and a first place finish on Sunday secured the 2011 Series championship with Nathan becoming the youngest champion in the series history. Nathan had a stellar season bringing home 3 first place, 2 second place and 2 third place trophies out of the 12 race series.
Other accomplishments in 2011: Youngest driver to break the track record at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal and the youngest driver to win at the renowned Trois Rivieres Grand Prix.

The End of Summer Car Show for Dad for Prostate Cancer was held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Renfrew Fair Grounds in Renfrew, Ontario.
The event was a huge success with over 200 cars. The weather was excellent and the event was attended by a large crowd of spectators.
Nathan was again privileged to be awarded a trophy for the People's Choice Award.
This was also the official launch to the "Sign Nathan's Race car" program. Individuals wishing to be part of the team and support his 2011 race season can get their signature on his car.
50% of all the "Sign Nathan's Race car" proceeds received at the car show were donated to Prostate Cancer Research.

After turning 16 years of age only this April, the Beachburg native Nathan Blok won his first race in Formula 1600 at Calabogie Motor Speedway this past Sunday.
The win has propelled Blok not only into the lead in the Rookie Standings, but also the overall the first place position in the Inter-Provincial Series.

This weekend, Nathan Blok will head to the Calabogie Motorsport Park where he will compete before a local crowd as part of the Ted Powell Memorial Weekend, the first of two F1600 races which are part of a new Inter-provincial series.
On the June 12 weekend Beachburg's Nathan Blok was competing in a support race for the Canadian Grand Prix in the F1600 class. Mr. Blok drives for Mortimer Racing and was one of 40 cars in the field and was the youngest competitor.
It was an exciting weekend for Beachburg’s Nathan Blok who aspires to race in Formula One and recently got the opportunity to compete in a support race for their Canadian Grand Prix.
OTTAWA - Nathan showcased his F1600 at the Mortimer Racing Display at the Ferrari Festival in Ottawa this past weekend.

Sept 23/09 by Connie Tabbert, Cobden Sun RENFREW - Beachburg racer Nathan Blok was showing a special car at the fair grounds in Renfrew during the Prostate Cancer Car Show fundraiser. He was showing the Formula 1600 race care owned and driven by the now-retired Major General Lewis MacKenzie, who used to head up the Canadian Armed Forces.
This past Saturday, Nathan Blok was honoured to win the People's Choice Award for the third year at the Summer's End Car Show for Dad, where he was showcasing Lewis MacKenzie's championship F1600 car. Nathan who now races for Ottawa based Mortimer Racing, is a team mate to the retired Major-General MacKenzie. The car show was a fund raiser for Prostate Cancer Awareness and was held at the Renfrew Fair grounds.

Beachburg’s Nathan Blok gets set to hit the track during the Ted Powell Memorial Race Weekend at Calabogie MotorSports Park July 26. In his first-ever F1600 Formula Ford racing competition, the young driver had a podium finish on Sunday, finishing third in his class.
Last year, teenager Nathan Blok of Beachburg brought his racing go-kart to show Bonnechere Manor residents.
This year, the youngster brought his new F-1600 to the same long-term care facility in Renfrew, while beaming with more confidence and talking about new challenges in his racing career.

This Saturday, Sept. 20th Nathan attended the "Summers End Car Show for Dad", which was held at the Renfrew Fair Grounds in Renfrew, Ontario. The event was a huge success, with all proceeds being donated to Prostate Cancer Research.

There's a high price tag attached. Go-kart racer Nathan Blok stepped into new territory over the past two weekends, when his driving abilities were evaluated by the Autosports Academy of North America.
Ottawa CTV news featured Nathan as "Athlete of the Week" on their Sports Newscast.

Nathan visits Miramachi Lodge for the 2nd year
. Nathan was invited back to Miramachi Lodge, a Long-Term Care Facility in Pembroke this summer for the second year in a row. The resident's enjoyed a demonstration of his Rotax go kart around the parking lot. He also delivered a speech, handed out hero cards and spent time visiting with the residents.
